"Put down the cameras and put down the notebooks and go and save his life": Karen

Family squabble over Wayne Kublalsingh: Please leave, one sister tells another (Express photo)
The Kublalsingh Hunger camp was the scene of a standoff Wednesday involving members of his family with one sister demanding that her brother, Wayne, end his protest and get medical attention.

According to local media reports while one sister, Karen Kublalsingh, pleaded with her brother get medical help another sister, Judy Kublalsingh asked her leave their brother's side.

Wayne also told Karen to leave, the media reported. But she was adamant that Wayne needed help and should get it.

"We have had enough and it is time to put a stop to this. Do you want my brother to die? Would that help this cause?" He question was directed to members of the re-route group present at the camp.

Wayne wife Sylvia Moodie-Kublalsingh, another sister, Faith Kublalsingh and brother Hayden Kublalsingh took Wayne to an ambulance for his regular medical checks while Karen continued to protest.

"We grew up with a bond and he is breaking that bond...We cannot afford to lose him, we need to take charge of him, enough is enough," she said.

And she had a question for other members of the family: "I don't understand how we can stand by and watch a man disintegrate before our eyes, how can you stand up and watch a man die in front your eyes?"

She wept as she made her case for an end to the protest. "We need to take a stand as his family. Today is the end, we cannot go on like that. I am not going to stand by and watch my brother die in front of everybody. Where is the compassion, where is the humanity for my brother?"

Karen also had some advice for reporters: "Put down the cameras and put down the notebooks and go and save his life".
