A doctor who examined Wayne Kublalsingh Tuesday told the media the leader of the Highway Reroute Movement is facing kidney failure and other health complications.
Medical personnel examined Kublalsingh at his private ambulance stationed near where he is conducting his hunger strike to try to stop construction of a section of the highway to Point Fortin.

One of his doctors said Kublalsingh's situation is critical. Dr. Asanti Charles Le Blanc, "Right now Dr. Kublalsingh has deteriorated greatly. Right now there is a great risk of multi-organ failure. I am seeing slight signs of impending failure."
The doctor said Kublalsingh is severely dehydrated. She added that no one can survive on drips alone.
