Works ministry installing cable barriers

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has started installing 25 kilometres of cable barriers along the Solomon Hochoy Highway from Chaguanas to Golconda.

The work will be done daily between nine in the morning and two in the afternoon and on weekends. It's a continuation of the Ministry’s road safety infrastructure. 

In a media release the ministry said the barriers will be installed first in those areas deemed critical due to high accident rates. The first areas to get the barriers would be Freeport.

The barriers will safeguard motorists and the general public using the Highway.
