Photo story: Food production stages Agri exhibition in Rio Claro

Food Production Minister Devant Maharaj on Wednesday opened AgriRIO 2012, a two-day exhibition to highlight some of the critical success factors relevant to rural community re-generation and rural agri-small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) success.

"It is important that we recognise successful interventions in the sphere of rural re-generation and, in particular, those factors relevant to the success of creating and diversifying agri-entrepreneurs," the minister said.

He added, "The thought of diversifying agri-entrepreneurs will ensure that we create a dynamic and responsive food sector which is relevant to the tastes and preferences of consumers, remain appealing to all income levels, and give value for money."
