Double tragedy; woman killed in same spot where her mother died

In a cruel twist of fate, 26-year-old Donna Diana Persad was struck and killed by a car at Rochard Douglas Road in Barrackpore on Tuesday, two months after her mother was killed in the same way, near the same spot, in the arms of the same man.

Donna Diana Persad died cradled by her father, just as her mother, Rose Celestine Persad, had on the morning of June 23.
