Fuad may not run for UNC post

Fuad Khan told reporters on Wednesday he may not run again for an executive post in the United National Congress (UNC). The Health Minister, who is the MP for Barataria/San Juan, hold the post of Deputy Chairman in the present National Executive (NATEX).

The party is holding its internal election on March 24 for all the executive posts except that of political leader. Nomination papers must be filed by Sunday.

So far on chairman Jack Warner has declared that he will run again for the post. It's expected that there will be a full slate of 17 candidates by a group called Generation Next, which is being advised by former UNC leader Basdeo Panday.

Khan told reporters he has not made a final decision. However he indicated that he is quite busy as an MP and minister.
