Any clear and rational thinking person, anywhere in the world, must admit that the media consists LARGLY of ordinary men and women with biases and preferences just like the rest of us.
So far the T&T media has NEVER shown any predisposition towards bringing us the news without some kind of bias showing through, at the same time insisting on being bestowed with the freedoms granted to it in law.
This makes it very difficult for us, the people being deprived of a reliable, responsible media, to condemn any attack, legal or otherwise, on the T&T media.
Until and unless, the media builds itself into the kind of institution that reports fairly and truthfully, and does not report half truths and downright scandal just to sell newspapers and does not print attractive albeit misleading headlines that have nothing to do with the stories below, it will have to continue fighting for its legal right to freedom WITHOUT the assistance of the general public.
