Police arrested Alexis Tuesday night at his luxury apartment at the exclusive multimillion-dollar One Woodbrook Place.
The Trinidad Express reported that police found pictures of Persad-Bissessar and Ramlogan at the apartment with a X on their images.
Persad-Bissessar spoke with the media Wednesday following independenceday celebration at the National Academy for the Performning Arts (NAPA). However she told reporters was is not aware of any plot against her.
However, she called the arrest of Alexis a significant step in the fight against crime.
She added, "Every wanted person arrested is of significance to me, whether it be Robocop or any other. I applaud the efforts of our law enforcement officers in finding, apprehending this much sought-after individual. This is yet another indication that the measures being deployed are in the national interest."
The Express Ramlogan did not comment on the arrest or reports of a plot against him and the Prime Minister.
