One of the prominent guests at the celebration was the Lieutenant Governor of Florida, Mrs Jennifer Carrol, a Trinidadian.
In an address she pledged to continue with Trinidad and Tobago to securing trade and between the two countries.
Carrol praised Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for her achievements in uniting Trinidad and Tobago and becoming the country's first female leader.
