Lisa Ghany moves to PM's office

Lisa Ghany is the new public engagement adviser to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. She replaces Sasha Mohammed who resigned last month.

Ghany has been involved in corporate communications for more than two decades. She told the media she is excited about her new position, which includes maintaining a good relationship with the media.

"I think I have an excellent relationship with the media and I would like to continue in that vein," she said. 

"I've been involved in corporate communications for over 25 years. I think that will be a plus, having had to deal with the media in my past positions on an ongoing basis. I am really excited about taking up the position and I think I can add value to the post."

Ghany told reporters her job requires her to be the "face of the office with the media" and "to look at the way the protocol is handled for engagements when the Prime Minister is involved and also anything that relates to media and communications coming out of the office of the Prime Minister."
