Therese Baptiste-Cornelis got her official documents Thursday. She is to be the Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador to Geneva.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar made the presentation at the post cabinet media briefing. The new ambassador will be working on "deepening ties" between Switzerland and Trinidad and Tobago in the areas of finance, trade and diplomacy.
"Mrs Baptiste-Cornelis is a strategist with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of innovation and operational excellence which will augur well for her in her new position," an official media stated.
Another former minister has also shifted to the diplomatic field. Former Public Administration Minister Nan Ramgoolam will be the new Consul General for Trinidad and Tobago in New York.
