COP, OWTU wish PM Kamla speedy recovery

The Congress of the People (COP) has wished the Prime Minister a speedy recovery from dengue fever.

A statement from the party noted extended sincerest wishes to the Prime Minister for a "speedy, full and comfortable recovery".

The party said, "We stand by her and our government at this time when support is critically needed. 


"The seemingly increasing spread of dengue fever must be met with full alert and action by all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. 

"We urge all citizens to pay attention to their immediate surroundings, and to ensure that they are kept clean, and to report any appropriate complaints to their respective regional or borough corporations."

The President General of the Oilfield Workers Trade Union President General, Ancel Roget, also extended wishes for a speedy recovery.

Roget said her illness shows that dengue can strike anyone in society without warning.

He said, "Ours is the fervent hope that no citizen in this country will be affected by the dengue outbreak...ours is only the best of wishes for our dear Prime Minister to ensure that she is quickly nursed back to health to ensure good governance for the country."
