Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar told reporters Sunday night Barbados is excited about the prospect of having a natural gas pipeline from Tobago to other Caricom states.
She said she raised the issue during the Caricom Heads of Government Meeting in St Kitts over the weekend.
She said talks on the matter could start in two weeks. “We will pull that back out. We will have a look at it and see that it can be mutually beneficial to T&T and Barbados.”

She said CARICOM leaders are also excited about a proposal for the regional ferry service.
“It will help us to create the linkages, via sea, reduce the cost of transport within the region, create jobs and it will not entail massive capital investment by the Government of T&Tor any of the Governments,” she added.
