Jack has no evidence of 'cabal' in PP cabinet

Jack Warner said on Monday he has no evidence of a cabal in the People's Partnership Cabinet.

The Works minister was responding to a speculative Sunday Guardian report that quoted unnamed sources as suggesting that a cabal was against Warner because of his performance and wanted to reduce his popularity.

The report further suggested that the group was behind the Prime Minister's decision to take away the transport portfolio from Warner. However the Guardian offered no evidence to support the report other than reference to "sources".

Warner's colleagues have dismissed the report. And Warner has also stated that as far as he is aware there is no such entity.

He told reporters, "I just do what I have to do...the rumours are out there in the public domain and I hear them just as you hear them. Until such time as I have any strong evidence, then I know what I will have to do but I don't have any as yet."

He added, "I know that when you do good deeds, your good deeds do not go unpunished. And if, by some unfortunate reason, I have to be punished for my good deeds, then so be it."
