The Toronto office of the Consulate General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is moving from its current location to a new building.

The new address is 185 Sheppard Avenue West in Toronto , M2N 1M9. Website: www.ttcgtoronto.gov.tt

A notice from the acting consul general Wednesday said the office will be closed to the public on Friday May 6 and Monday May 9, 2011 to facilitate the move. It will open to the public at the new location on May 10, 2011.

The office has advised that in the case of an emergency on 6th May, 2011 and 9th May, nationals of Trinidad and Tobago can contact the Consulate General in Toronto at 416-495-9442/3.

The previous Manning PNM administration bought the new consulate building in September 2009 for Cdn$4.25 milllion.

The new People's Partnership government had to undertake extensive renovations before moving the office to 185 Sheppard West. Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Surujrattan Rambachan is expected to formally open the building later this month.

If you are in Toronto and trying to find the new office, the easiest way is to take the Yonge subway line to the Sheppard station and walk just one block west of the station.
