Letter: Yes, Jack is untouchable!

A letter writer in the daily newspapers questions whether Jack Warner is untouchable, a question provoked by the sacking of Mary King and of allegations of corruption against the FIFA Vice President.

After some consideration, I concluded that "Yes, Jack is untouchable".

When a politician can almost singlehandedly take on his entrenched leader who was caught up in a political time warp and so create the pathway for meaningful change, he has to be untouchable.

When a politician can strategise on national unity to win an election, seems to me to be untouchable.

When that politician is voted three consecutive times as the best performing MP, that must be untouchable.

When he sits in his office until midnight and sees to the needs of over 300 people every week, I call that untouchable.

When in 11 months he effects massive road repair and infrastructural works unprecedented in our history, it's got to be untouchable.

When he puts buses in rural areas and walks the walk of the common man; he is certainly untouchable. And when a man gives a nation a general sense of hope and anticipation of a better country, yes he is untouchable.
