Kamla Persad-Bissessar is devoting Sunday to prayers on the eve of the first anniversary of the general election that propelled her to the nation's highest elected office.

She will join guests and religious leaders at the Rienzi Complex Sunday afternoon for an inter faith service hosted by the party she leads, the United National Congress. The 2-hour service begins at 3:00pm.

During the day, she has asked citizens to offer prayers in every constituency in private homes and at temples, mosques, churches and other places of worship.

Persad-Bissessar and the rest of the leadership of the People's Partnership took a will celebrate their first year in office at a mass rally on Tuesday at Mid Centre Mall. They have invited citizens to join them, regardless of political affiliation.

The opposition People's National Movement (PNM) is also holding a rally on the same day at Four Roads, Diego Martin. The party has invited supporters to hear what it calls the government's "blunders" and lack of a coordinated policy.
The party is also planning a series of public meetings during June, July and August.
