The National Petroleum Company (NP) has suspended three managers for violating company procedures.
Minister of Energy Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan made the disclosure to reporters at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port-of-Spain during a break at the National Energy Policy Consultation.
“When I came into the Government there was a problem with the overriding of a credit policy that was being investigated, and based on the investigations by the audit department they had produced a report which went to the board of directors. The board issued a suspension, but to facilitate an investigation,” she added.
Seepersad-Bachan said she did not want to say more since there is the risk of compromising the investigation. "I do not expect this investigation to take long,” she said.
