Has T&T forgotten it was Jack Warner's dedication to unseating the corrupt PNM which caused him to go outside Chaguanas West and walk the talk with the other candidates to show them the ropes?
It was the Guanapo Church revelation that broke the PNM's back. Without Jack, the People’s Partnership would have had a very slim majority in Parliament; or none at all.
Mr. Warner is the line Minister that is responsible for the Ministry of Works and Transport. Under its portfolio is Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. A contract is not thought out and signed in a day. These contracts were in the making even before Jack took over as line Minister when Imbert was in charge, and delay after delay.
Further proof comes from AATT's statement that the tender was approved by Board members to invite bids since July 31st 2009 to improve runway infrastructure for both Airports, to assure safe landing of aircrafts.
What Jack did in fact do was fast track a bureaucratic process that could have taken months which could prove disastrous for the Airport and all stakeholders involved.
We should be thanking him, not wasting time because if these contracts are held up T&T could find themselves drowning in Court for safety violations from foreign and local persons.
Could this sudden focus on Jack be a distraction from something else?
What we Trinbagonians care about is getting the job done. Jack is doing the job we voted him in to do. Leave the man alone.
