Letter: Jack made an important point

Responding to MP Imbert’s disparaging of his breaking of the rules by pointing to the latter’s record performance of 31 similar breaches during his own tenure, Jack publicly thanked his PM for her firm correcting of his breach.

Had the Manning administration been similarly motivated and willing to self correct, they may have performed better in Government.

As to Mr. Rowley’s denunciation of the PM as irresponsible and even incompetent, and charging that she was being influenced by a close friend, one must wonder at the brazenness of this good gentleman who has forgotten the performance of his own PM whose chief adviser got him to give away public lands and money corruptly through UDeCOTT to build a Church for the Glory of God in what must be a most blasphemous performance.

The OPV’s are overdue and under commissioned in equipment. The sense of responsibility and competence and courage one may add displayed by the PM is exemplary.

Her decision has been brave and fearless and Mr. Rowley can be confident that she will be attacking the drug legacy of his government and party. Unfortunately the OPV’s were really intended to curb the proliferation of guns already in criminal hands.

The Government of Mr. Rowley knew Mr. Big and never arrested him. They went after small fish. The OPV’s did not cater for large fish in the PNM’s trawling.

MFRahman.
