The Congress of the People (COP) held its first Parliamentary Caucus Saturday at the Tunapuna Constituency Office.
Political Leader Winston Dookeran introduced party's new chairman, Joseph Tony and members of the new executive that was elected in last Sunday's internal election.
Dookeran, who is the MP for Tunapuna and Finance Minister in the People's Partnership government, told COP's elected members as part of the new generation of COP Leaders, they must be forward thinking in the politics.
He challenged them to develop a position paper on a new Caribbean Nations Agenda, with specific reference to CARICOM. He said this is critical in the face of unfolding regional and global changes.
The party observed a minute of silence to mark the death of Prime Minister David Thompson of Barbados.
