I am reminded of the saying "you can't win for losing" when reading Saturday's Express editorial "Advice for Mr. Ramlogan".
Given the dirt that has emerged since this new administration took office a mere month ago the editorialist would do well to take into consideration the enormity and complexity of the job they have undertaken.
If they can find one good thing to report to us on in Mr. Manning's two terms of office there are many of us who will be flabbergasted, not merely surprised.
Let's face it - an awesome task faces our new Government.
Were Mr. Ramlogan to maintain the dignified silence that the editorialist is succinctly advocating I'm sure that same editorialist would be snapping at his heels demanding explanations.
The PNM were not harassed in this manner while they squandered our future (and it now turns out that they should have been!), so please, give Mr. Ramlogan and the rest of OUR government sufficient time to collate the evidence and bring credible evidence to court on our behalf.
I for one am quite satisfied that Mr. Ramlogan is both street, intellectually and legally smart enough not to open his mouth with insufficient evidence.
Ask instead how any government could commit itself (and the country), as did the PNM, to such deals as did they in the pre-election period when they could not be questioned in Parliament and why we as a people did not sufficiently question them to permit the unfolding mess of corruption and squander that is coming to light.
