John confirmed that following a meeting Monday with Housing Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal.
"We had a very good, positive meeting. I will continue to do my work and I am glad that the Minister shares the values and expectations of transparency, equity and best practice.
"That is not counter to what I do at the HDC," she told the Trinidad Express.
Moonilal also confirmed that John is staying on for now. However he noted that her contract has an exit clause which can be used by either party at any time.
The minister and John met following reports that a preliminary investigation into the operations of the HDC found that an official ordered the allocation of 900 houses immediately before the May 24 general election.
The minister has also complained of poor workmanship and illegal activities at the HDC and ordered a freeze on allocating homes pending an investigation.
