Trinidad and Tobago is now in the unenviable, not to mention unusual, position of being "at battle" - with its own Prime Minister, no less!
Or to put it in proper context the Prime Minister appears to be at battle with his own subjects.
Since we are still classified as being governed under democratic rule perhaps the Prime Minister might read between the lines and either step down or, as we say in T&T, "put your money where your mouth is" and call a General Election.
We would all then be afforded the opportunity to let Mr. Manning know just what we think of his governance (as if he doesn't know!).
To state that the majority of the populace are thoroughly disgusted and fed up with his (mis) rule is putting it mildly.
When an octogenarian, who has admitted to being a firm pro PNM supporter all of his life, takes exception to the current leader of that party entering his premises I think that we can more or less prejudge the results of an election.
These must, however, be carefully monitored by independent observers so as to ensure a "free and fair" election process this time around.
Given the world economic slowdown we cannot afford to have a bellicose wastral leading our nation - we now have to salvage whatever we can.
Perhaps more of our citizens will now realise that the price of freedom, and progress, is eternal vigilance.
It is always up to the citizenry to ensure that they get their money's worth.
We must not allow this wastage of our patrimony to continue, or ever happen again.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown Mr. Manning. Your administration has failed miserably.
You have lost the battle for executive presidency for sure and no one is going to envy your place in the history of T&T.
