A son's tribute to Pandit K.D.Dubay

Pandit K.D Dubay, my father, has gone riding off into the sunset.

A voracious appetite for western novels and western movies, an appetite for all books prompting him to read sometimes 2 and 3 books in one night.

An avid cricket fan and supporter of West Indies cricket, especially Rohan Kanhai and Gary Sobers. He was also known to have placed a bet on a horse or two.

But most of all, a humble man, a simple man, a very down to earth man firmly embedded in the grassroots movement. Someone with a raucous laughter, a strong sense of humour and not afraid to say or stand up for what he believed in.

With Pandit K.D , what you saw is what you got. An ardent admirer of all things beautiful, a singer, a musician, a composer, a poet, a pandit, a father and a husband.

When life gives you limes, you make lime juice. My father was also a very good cook and pepper sauce maker, with his own unique style of flavours and blending. A rider of trace mules when only 14.

My father, K.D Dubay was always very good company and always very entertaing with kind words to say.

In all the time I spent with him, I don't remember a single argument I could relate easily with him and had a natural bonding with him.

The kid is gone; long live the kid. Goodbye dad, I love you very much
