UNC politicians: Look for a new dawn in 2010

Siparia MP Kamla Persad-Bissessar:

"I wish everyone a blessed and Merry Christmas. This is a time of goodwill and cheer and, most importantly, for families to come together in the spirit of love. This year has been a challenging year, but we can look ahead to a brighter future.

"We must all live together as one, and the people should reflect on their lives as well as the country and make informed decisions that would make way for a new dawn."

Tabaquite MP Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj:

"The dream we had of a party based on solid principles and wise policies almost died. Take note and take hope that it will be reborn and rise again. This I promise you.

"Enjoy the Christmas, but prepare for a new year that will be much better and brighter than this one."

Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner:

"I am reminded every day of the need to keep focused, for there is a threat to civility as we know it, to democracy as we have been schooled, and to social decency of which we were once accustomed.

"So while I extend greetings, wishing you a Merry Christmas, I know the unfolding of gifts for us will only have meaning when we secure victory on January 25, 2010, after the results of the UNC internal elections have been announced.

"This victory will signal the changing of the guards, the retiring of the old order and the installation of the new."
