Annisette has been under pressure for supporting UDeCOTT in its legal battle against the state. He is a member of the state corporation's board and in the Senate he represents the labour movement.
Annisette, who is the president of the National Trade Union Centre (NATUC), dismissed calls for him to give up his Senate seat saying that he has a responsibility to express his views on any matter.
