Daniel murder case postponed to July 9

Two men accused of the murder of Camille Daniel at a police station on June 24 made their first court appearance Tuesday hiding their faces under towels.

Xavier Thomas, 22, and Kristian Porter, 17, are charged murder along with several other counts including robbery, kidnapping and illegal possession of a firearm.

The matter was adjourned to July 9. Porter will remain in custody at the youth prison in Arouca, Eastern Trinidad, because of his age.

The suspects are accused of killing Daniel as she drove into the compound of the West End Police Station in Diego Martin. She died after being shot in the head. The car she was driving crashed in the yard of the police station. Another woman who was in the car with Daniel is the state's principal witness
