Jack suing Sir David Simmons

Jack Warner is suing Sir David Simmons, the man who chaired Concacaf’s ethics committee that prepared a report that raised ethical issues about Warner and his ownership of the Centre of Excellence.
Simmons is a former Chief Justice of Barbados and is heading the commission of enquiry in to the failed Muslimeen Coup in Trinidad and Tobago. He led the team that wrote the Concacaf report that was released in Panama in April this year.

Shortly after the report was made public Warner offered his resignation to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who accepted it. he then quit as chairman of the Un ited National congress and resigned his seat as the MP for Chaguanas West.

On Monday Warner won re-election in Chaguanas West as the interim leader of the new Independent Liberal Party (ILP).

At a news conference Wednesday Warner said he would mount the legal challenge against Simmons based on the findings of three lawyers who found the Simmons report was flawed.
He said Concacaf has goven him persomission to take legal action against Simmons. However he did not provide additional details on the matter, saying reporters would hear more "iun due course".

“Everything is timing, that is why I am here today as the member of Parliament for Chaguanas West,” he said.
ILP interim chairman Robin Montano pointed out that although there have been allegations against Warner for 12 years Warner not never been charged with anything.

The party's interim deputy political leader Anna Deonarine, who is also an attorney, called the allegations against Warner as unsubstantiated and baseless. She said FIFA has a bias against Warner.
Deonarine also pointed out that if everyone is asked to aside based on allegations then there would be no Parliament.
