The Seismic Research Centre of the University of the West Indies at St Augustine recorded a magnitude 4.1 earthquake off Trinidad's north west peninsula on Tuesday morning. The centre said it happened at 10:56am local time, North of Paria Peninsula.
A media release said from the centre, "The event was located at 10.75°N 62.13°W. The magnitude was 4.1 and depth 54km. This event has been reported to be felt in north west Trinidad. Please note that these results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data is processed."
There are no reports of damage or injury.
