Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne handed down the decision Monday in the Princes Town First Magistrates' Court.
Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne handed down the decision Monday in the Princes Town First Magistrates' Court.
She ruled that the State had made out a prima facie case against Acting Sergeant Khemraj Sahadeo and Constables Renaldo Reviero, Glenn Singh, Roger Nicholas, Safraz Juman and Antonio Ramadin.
They were charged with shooting to death Abigail Johnson, Alana Duncan and Kerron "Fingers" Eccles in Barrackpore on July 22, 2011.
The killings sparked a week of fiery protests in Moruga with villagers demanding action against the officers. Eyewitnesses contradicted the official police report that the three friends fired on the police and officers returned fire, killing the three.
They stated that the officers "executed" the three and that there was no exchange of gunfire as claimed by the police.

The State's case is dependent on its key witness, Constable Nicole Clement, who was initially charged with the murders. The state discontinued charges against Clement and granted her immunity from prosecution, in exchange for her testimony against her colleagues.
