Google says emails linked to TT government do not exist

Suruj Rambachan told reporters Wednesday Google International has advised him that the e-mails presented in Parliament on May 20 by Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley and their corresponding IP addresses, do not exist. 

He said based on that information he has concluded that the emails were fabricated. "One must go by what the CoP has said, that this is a big fake or big fabrication,” Rambachan said.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams said this week that the emails were fakes. Subsequent to that, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar called on Rowley to reveal the name of the person or persons who gave him the documents. 

Rambachan referred to that. "Those who do that kind of thing must be taken before the courts of law and be made to pay the penalty for trying to damage the good character of other people," he said.

Rowley has insisted that the police are not competent to conduct an investigation into the email matter. He insists that it must be done by the Integrity Commission.
