National Security Minister Jack Warner said on Saturday he would answer Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley on Friday.
When reporters asked Warner about that he said: "I tell you on Friday when I reply to Rowley make sure you have a front row seat because I’ve been quiet on Rowley for far too long and the time has come now for me to go after Mr Rowley frontally.”
Warner added: “Blazing headlines, sensationalism at its best, but at the end of the day, you have to ask what are the facts? What were the conditions under which ask Dr Joao Havelange gave this gift to me in 1996?
“Why haven’t they asked him? How come they have a report from an eminent jurist like Simmons and they haven’t spoken to Havelange once? Havelange is alive, he is sane, he is of sound mind and judgment, why hasn’t Simmons spoken to Havelange once?”
Rowley said on Friday that the Prime Minister must fire Waqrner based on the report of the Integrity Committee of Concacaf that made serious allegations against Warner and another football official, Cheuck Blazer.
Rowley told reporters: “Jack Warner cannot continue to serve as a Minister of Government. He must be removed from the Cabinet. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar must act.”
He added that on Friday he would bring a motion to Parliament on the matter.
