The Police Service Commission (PSC) announced on Thursday that it has decided to extend by six months the assignment of Stephen Williams.
Williams is the acting Police Commissioner. He was appointed until January 31, 2013 after the resignation of Canadian Dwayne Gibbs last year.
The PSC has also agreed to extend for another six months the assignments of Deputy Commissioners Simeon Alexis and Raymond Craig.
Williams is an attorney and has served in the Police Service for 33 years. he took up his assignment on on August 7, 2012.
The PSC is in the process of acquiring funds from the Ministry of Finance to hire a firm to begin the process of selecting the top officers.
