Jack Warner says he has no apology for saying President Max Richards is behaving like a puppet of the PNM.
The chairman of the United National Congress (UNC) made the statement over the weekend with respect to the matter of the president writing the Prime Minister asking questions about Section 34 on the instigation of the opposition.
PNM senators Fitzgerald Hinds and Faris Al-Rawi have criticised Warner for his comments about the president. However he said somebody had to say it.
And he is not bothered about comments from the two PNM senators. He told the Guardian newspaper, "Nineteen thousand people voted for me, nobody voted for them.”
The Chaguanas West MP also told supporters to get ready for political warfare in 2013, noting that it will be politically worse than 2012. "Every attempt would be made to undermine your prime minister. You must defend your prime minister,” Warner said.
He said detractors of the government “within and without” are gearing up to attack the PM and her government in the new year. He said supporters have to be vigilant and prevent the PNM from undermining the government.
