To the PNM, the upcoming THA election is all about exactly what said election is NOT all about - a vote on the performance of the government of Trinidad and Tobago, concerning the performance of the government of Trinidad and Tobago.
Because of this misunderstanding (or mischief), the PNM's THA campaign has been focusing on everything, except giving us even a remotely-reasonable explanation for the unacceptable performance of the outgoing PNM-controlled Assembly.
Foolishly, it has also tried to hurt outgoing Minority Leader, Ashworth Jack, by pointing out the TOP's link to the People's Partnership, when such link is a plus (for example, at last we can use the Scarborough Hospital and air travel between Tobago and Trinidad is free for needy persons).
By taking that wrongful approach, the PNM is conveniently ignoring or forgetting how long, deviously and hard it fought against Tobagonians over the establishment of the very institution it wants to keep under its control.

And how, on the few occasions the THA wasn't controlled by the PNM, it frustrated its operations at every turn. (Earlier, that's why I hinted its misunderstanding could be viewed as mischief.)
If it wasn't for the tenacity of Mr ANR Robinson, Dr Winston Murray, Sister Pamela Nicholson and Dr Morgan Job, and the unwavering support of the ULF and UNC, there would be no THA today, so no THA elections to fight over.
But we Tobagonians comprise a highly civilized society; we give people like the PNM an audience, all the while keeping our brooms upturned in every corner of the house.

Come January 21st, if they're still lurking around, we shall sweep to suit.
