The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) will be hosting a Community Outreach Programme on Thursday 23rd August 2012 between 10:00am and 6:00pm on the Arima Promenade with the theme – ‘HIV is Everybody’s Business.’
The event will feature an address by the MP for Arima, Rodger Samuel, who is a Minister of State in the OPM. It would offer free health screening for diabetes, high blood pressure, optical examinations, HIV testing and counseling, video demonstrations, interactive Q & A sessions, and giveaways.
There will also be a mini concert featuring entertainment from well-known local artistes such as Philomena, Black Sage and youth performers from the community.
It's aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases as well as providing opportunities for screening. Other stakeholders are also participating in this project.
