Heavy rains in Trinidad and Tobago have caused severe flooding and at least two deaths have been attributed to the stormy weather.
However forecasters say the rains have already started easing and Sunday could be bright and sunny. They say contrary to some rumours, the country is not under a storm watch.
Some of the worst hit areas are in the Diego martin area, where the Diego Martin River has overflown its banks. The forecasters say this amount of rainfall is normal for this time of the year.
There are reports of landslide and broken power lines in communities in North West Trinidad including Diego Martin, Maraval, and Santa Cruz. The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management is coordinating relief efforts.
