Remembering Kelvin Ramnath

Kelvin Ramnath (1948-2012)
Basdeo Panday:

"He was one of my closest friends. We fought many battles together. We had spoken recently and made plans to get together. He seemed fine. He had a tinge of sarcasm that everyone was afraid of...My deepest condolences go out to his wife, Debbie, and his family. I am sure God will give them the strength to cope."

Former attorney general Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj:  " (A) sad loss for the UNC and the country...In recent times, he's been telling me he's not been happy with the way the country is going, but he still maintained his position as chairman of the EMA because he still wanted to make a contribution."

UNC Deputy Leader Dr Roodal Moonilal remembers "Kello" as a "political giant" who waged a lifelong battle against inequality and injustice."

The National Youth Arm of the United National Congress:
"We wish to express our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Kelvin Ramnath on his untimely passing. Words cannot begin to describe how we feel at this time as we are also in shock to learn of his death.

"Mr. Ramnath has always been a true soldier of the UNC and a hard worker in everything he set out to do. It goes without saying that he will indeed be dearly missed. Our prayers are with his family at this most trying time.

Alimuddin Mohammed on behalf of himself and the Mohammed family:

"I will like on behalf of my family including my Father Kamaluddin Mohammed to our deepest condolences to the family of Kelvin Ramnath...my father (Kamluddin Mohammed) worked with him in the House and they both shared a good relationship.

"Kelvin also was a great lover of classical singing and organized and worked with the classical singers. The Country has lost a great son of the soil."
