Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has cancelled this week's visit to Brazil for a summit on sustainable development.
Government Chief Whip Dr Roodal Moonilal told local media she is staying at home to handle the planned re-configuration of her Cabinet.
Trinidad & Tobago's Ambassador to Brazil, Dr Hamza Rafeeq, will lead the delegation to the conference.
Moonilal said Saturday, “The Prime Minister and a couple of the ministers who were due to attend have opted to remain home to participate in what is really a very important national concern, which is the reconfiguration of the Cabinet, the re-organisation of the Government to ensure optimum delivery of goods and services to the people here in Trinidad and Tobago.”
Persad-Bissessar said she would make her announcements after Tuesday's Labour Day celebrations.
