In a media release the Multicultural Minister said the concert is expected to be a session of "delightful music featuring the works of a range of local and international composers".
The performance will be at the National Academy for the Performing Arts.
The NSSO, which falls under the direct supervision of the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism, comprises about 30 musicians, most of whom are university-trained.

Since its inception in 2007, the orchestra, under the musical direction of Jessel Murray, has earned commendations for its successful concerts, nationally and internationally.
Most memorable among them are “Genesis in Steel” as part of NAPA Fest in 2010, appearances in Guyana at Carifesta X, and Costa Rica at the highly-acclaimed “Credomatic XX International Music Festival", where the orchestra won sustained applause and standing ovations for their skill and execution.
Specially targeted at students of primary and secondary schools and music students throughout the country, Friday’s concert with the National Symphony Orchestra will expose the youth to the pleasing sound of the innovative G-pans, as they blend with other percussive orchestral instruments.
The visit by the National Symphony Orchestra of the US is being facilitated through the combined efforts of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the United States Embassy, in honour of Trinidad and Tobago’s 50th anniversary of Independence.
Friday’s concert is scheduled to run for approximately one hour from 11.30AM and will take place at The Lord Kitchener (Aldwyn Roberts) Auditorium of the National Academy for the Performing Arts.
