Members of the public are invited to nominate citizens from Trinidad and Tobago for the National Awards 2012. Those interested must complete a National Awards nomination form which can be collected at the Office of the Prime Minister (see address below) or downloaded on the link below.

AWARD CATEGORIES
The Order of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago
For distinguished and outstanding service to Trinidad & Tobago.
The Chaconia Medal
For long and meritorious service to Trinidad & Tobago, tending to promote the national welfare or strengthen the community spirit.
The Medal for the Development of Women
For outstanding contribution to the development of women's rights and issues.
The Hummingbird Medal
For loyal and devoted service beneficial to Trinidad & Tobago in any field of human endeavour or for gallantry other human action.
The Medal of Merit
For outstanding and meritorious service in the Public, Defense and Protective Services or service with Statutory Bodies performing national functions.
WHO IS ELEGIBLE
1. Citizens of Trinidad & Tobago and non-nationals of distinction, alive or deceased.
2. Only citizens of Trinidad & Tobago are eligible for the award of the Medal of Merit.
3. Any distinguished citizen of a country other than Trinidad & Tobago may be awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, the Chaconia Medal, Medal for the Development of Women or Hummingbird Medal on the advice of the Prime Minister.
