NIHERST, in collaboration with the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in India, is hosting one of India's top science and technology exhibitions, "India: A Culture of Science" at the Divali Nagar in Chaguanas until 20 July 2012.
The exhibition, which was opened on May 21 by Tertiary Education Minister Fazal Karim and acting Prime Minister at the time Jack Warner, covers 7000 years of India's history and the diverse contribution it has made to global scientific understanding and technological progress.

There are three main exhibition sections showcasing Heritage Science and Technology, Modern Science, and Fun Science, using the modalities inter alia of 3D interactives, models, artefacts, multimedia games and videos.

- India's contribution to mathematics
- Medicine and surgery including Ayurveda from the 1st to 7th centuries AD
- Modern agriculture
- Biotechnology
- Oceanography
- Art and architecture featuring some of India's most outstanding monuments
- Shipping, navigation and water lifting devices
- Traditional crafts for which India is world-renowned, such as bidriware, silver filigri work, and marble inlay
