Coudray's daughter killed by blow to the head: Autopsy report

A blow to the head killed Michelle Coudray-Greaves, 39, the daughter of of San Fernando Mayor Marlene Coudray, who was working as a teacher in Jamaica. She disappeared on June 2 and her charred body was found in a cane field in Montego Bay nine days later. 

Media reports says a second autopsy performed on Thursday revealed death was due to injuries to the right side of the head, inflicted by a blunt instrument. 

Deputy Superintendent of the Jamaican Constabulary Communication Network, Steve Brown, confirmed the findings of the second autopsy. In a media release he said homicide investigations are continuing.

Michelle's mother identified the body through dental records. A taxi driver is assisting police in their investigations but so far no one has been charged.
Authorities released the body to the Coudray family Thursday, after which a funeral services and a cremation was held at the St James Memorial Chapel, Dovecot. 

Coudray spoke at the funeral. She said, “What happened to my daughter is not a reflection on Jamaica. It could have happened anywhere else.” Trinidad & Tobago's High Commisioner to Jamaica Dr Iva Gloudon attended the service.

Coudray has returned home with the urn containing her daughter's ashes. A second funeral will take place Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church, Harris Promenade, San Fernando. Afterwards the ashes will be interred at the Paradise Cemetery, San Fernando. 

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and members of her Cabinet are expected to attend.
