YTEPP opens new campus to focus on agriculture

Senator Fazal Karim
Trinidad & Tobago's youth training facility - YTEPP - formally opened its Carapichaima/Waterloo Business Education and Training Campus on Tuesday to focus on agricultural development.

Tertiary Education Minister Fazal Karim, who delivered the feature address, said the centre would provide business-based courses such as Tilapia Rearing, Rabbit Rearing and Agriculture.

It will be expanded later to include Meteorology & Climatology as well as Maritime studies, which would be provided by the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).

Member of Parliament for the area, Ramona Ramdial said she hopes that courses at the new campus would also benefit and empower women in her constituency.

Ramdial said youth unemployment is high in her constituency and she urged Karim to focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation courses that will allow for young people to become self-employed.
