Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar has expressed shock and sadness at the news of a devastating vehicular accident which has left four persons dead and the Acting Chief Justice, Wendell Kangaloo in a critical condition.
"I am profoundly saddened by the news. I express my condolences and sympathies with the families of those who have lost their lives. I also prayer for the quick recovery of Justice Kangaloo."
The Prime Minister also stated that the accident brings into focus "the absolute need for much greater care and caution on the roads as just one moment of indiscretion can create immense danger and fatality to innocent citizens."
"In an instant the peace and happiness of a number of families have been thrown into chaos", Prime Minister Persad Bissessar said, adding " the government will continue to pursue its responsibility to citizens for strong measures to curb road accidents, but citizens themselves must also take responsibility for each other."
