A crime reporter and a cameraman working for one of the prominent media houses in Trinidad are among four people arrested on Sunday night, minutes after they allegedly robbed an Arouca businessman of more than $300,000.
Police shot one of the men in the foot. Police identified him as a security guard. they told local media they fired at him after he pointed a gun at them.
Police say the men posed a police officers and told the owner of K&A Liquor Mart of Five Rivers, Arouca they had a warrant to search the business place. Once they got access they robbed the man of cash and alcohol valued at $2,700.
Police arrived as three of the alleged robbers were leaving the liquor store. The injured man was treated at hospital and three others were detained and taken to the Arouca Police Station. Police said all of the cash and alcohol.
