Environmental activist Dr Wayne Kublalsingh was removed from the offices of the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) Thursday offices on Alexandra Street, St Clair. He was lifted by police offers and deposited outside the EMA compound.

Kublalsingh and some other activists were protesting the location of a chemical plant at Savonetta, Central Trinidad and the route of the San Fernando to Point Fortin highway through the community of Mon Desir, Debe

The protesters want an alternative route for that section of the highway and the relocation of Carisal chemical complex.

The activists then set fire to the two certificates of environmental clearance (CECs) granted for the extension of the highway from Debe to Mon Desir and for the Carisal chemical plant. Kublalsingh called the documents bogus.
