She was referring to opposition to allegations by Opposition MP Marlene McDonald that the Prime Minister's relatives are living at the official residence at taxpayers' expense and using the "fleet of the cars attached to the residence".
Mc Donald was speaking at a news conference at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. She said Persad-Bissessar's family are abusing the facilities.
Mc Donald claimed that the PM's relatives have "all the trappings accorded to the Prime Minister" adding that her nephews are not even citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
Persad-Bissessar told reporters: "My sister did stay with me, my nephews visit from time to time."
She also stated there there is no official car. She noted that there are several vehicles attached to the official residence and made it clear that members of her family have not used PM 1.
"In fact, that vehicle is solely reserved for the Prime Minister or the Acting Prime Minister", she added.
McDonald also wanted to know why Persad-Bissessar hosts official government meetings at her private residence instead of the official residence and she questioned the alleged use of a helicopter to commute between the two residences.
