The historical sundering of the UNC at every internal election event has finally halted and the party can look forward to healing the minor wounds of electioneering.

Indeed, Jack by himself is more valuable politically to the UNC than the COP is to the PP. One hopes that in its own self interest the UNC recognizes this reality.
